Collection: Bayeux Tapestry

The Bayeux Tapestry is a world famous piece of medieval embroidery that depicts scenes leading up to the Battle of Hastings in 1066 when William of Normandy defeated the Saxon King Harold Godwinson for the English throne. William was known forever after as William the Conqueror, and the rift between Norman and Saxon would linger in England for centuries thereafter.
